I began dancing at the age of four and only decided to pursue it as a career from the age of 16. An evident passion for dance led me to train intensively at Shockout academy dance school based in Manchester , (known as studio 25) where i was granted a full scholarship for my hard work. Shockout is a dance school which provides a high standard of training in all aspect of the performance and entertainment industry. Shockout opened my eyes to the dance world and magically provided me with the training of different dance styles and ideas. Shockout has also played a big part in my progression and development of finding my own style , which had a huge impact on my performance career. The training consisted of diverse dance styles such as Hip Hop , Street dance , Ballet, Contemporary , Jazz , Break dancing , Popping and Locking and Drama . This was a very hard training environment where i trained five days a week for 12 hours a day depending on how satisfied the teachers were with our performance. My dancing has allowed me to travel across the UK performing different shows and the opportunity to work and train with some excellent artists and choreographers. After my my experience of seeing and learning from influential choreographers and dance teachers , i was determined to further my education and knowledge in dance , thus i took and completed my National Diploma in BTEC dance , resulting in a Distinction*. This result led me on to taking a BA Hons in Dance Professional Practice at the University of Bedfordshire .
In terms of shows i have performed professionally with the winner of Britain's got talent 2008 George Sampson in a Halloween show in Manchester. I also took part in musical theater shows such as HAIR SPRAY , THE KING AND I , CHORUS LINE , THE SOUND OF MUSIC AND NOSFERATU (DRACULA). I have also been involved in numerous acting shows such as the SLAVE TRADE and the FRENCH REVOLUTION. These drama shows were performed in famous theater like the Library theater and the Royal Exchange theater in Manchester. Throughout my dance training i have developed a love for choreographing . Therefore i teach a wide range of dance styles (mixed movement , contemporary and street dance) for youths in my current church hall were i am expanding my work.
